On 11 November 2024, the popular programme "Lebenslinien" on Bavarian Television will focus on a special chapter of Munich's history: Dietmar Holzapfel, host of the Deutsche Eiche, is at the centre of the documentary, which will be broadcast at 10pm.

The film tells the eventful life story of this extraordinary man – from his childhood and teacher training to his great love Sepp Sattler and his role as the host of the world-famous hotel, restaurant, and sauna in the heart of Munich. The filming took the crew to South Tyrol, Ingolstadt, and, of course, to the Deutsche Eiche in Munich.

Anyone wishing to gain deeper insight into the life of Dietmar Holzapfel and the creation of this international meeting point can watch the documentary on the day of broadcast or later on the ARD Mediathek.
